Getting Started

Connect via OAuth

Ask your agent to do something with YouTube (e.g. “list my recent video comments”), or connect proactively from Integrations in the Shanone dashboard.

Authorize the Google account

Approve Google’s OAuth consent screen for the YouTube channel you want Shanone to act on. YouTube uses its own dedicated Google Cloud OAuth client, separate from Gmail and other Google integrations.

Retry your request

Once connected, shanone_execute_tool calls for youtube_* tools will succeed.

Troubleshooting

Check the video’s privacy status in the upload payload — new uploads without an explicit status.privacyStatus may default to private, so set it explicitly if you expect public or unlisted.
Live chat messages require an active, live broadcast with chat enabled — verify the broadcast’s lifeCycleStatus via youtube_list_live_broadcasts is live, not ready or complete.
YouTube Analytics data typically has a processing delay of 1-2 days; querying for “today” or “yesterday” often returns incomplete or empty results.
YouTube uses its own dedicated Google Cloud OAuth client (separate from Gmail, Drive, etc.) for scope isolation — connect YouTube independently from Integrations even if other Google services are already connected.
