Shanone’s Notion integration gives your agent 45 tools for pages, databases, blocks, comments, and views — including Markdown-native reading and writing, which is usually the most convenient way for an agent to work with Notion content.

Getting Started

Connect via OAuth

Ask your agent to do something with Notion (e.g. “create a page called Q3 Roadmap”), or connect proactively from Integrations in the Shanone dashboard.

Share pages with the integration

Notion’s permission model requires each page or database to be explicitly shared with the connected integration — even after OAuth, pages you haven’t shared won’t be visible to notion_search or notion_read_page. Use Share → Invite on the relevant Notion pages.

Retry your request

Once shared, your agent can read, write, and search that content.

Troubleshooting

The page (or its parent database) hasn’t been shared with the Shanone integration in Notion. Open the page in Notion, click Share, and add the integration explicitly — OAuth alone doesn’t grant per-page access.
notion_append_markdown / notion_update_page_markdown support Notion’s common block types (headings, lists, code, callouts, tables) but not every exotic block type. For anything unsupported, fall back to the block-level tools (notion_append_block, notion_update_block).
Check the filter/sort payload against notion_get_database_schema first — property names and types must match exactly, including case.
