# Mixpanel

Shanone's Mixpanel integration gives your agent 46 tools spanning event tracking, user/group profile writes, and the analytics queries (segmentation, retention, funnels) most teams build dashboards around.

## Getting Started

    In your Mixpanel project settings, go to **Service Accounts** and create one — note the username, password, and project ID.

    Go to **Integrations > Mixpanel** in the Shanone dashboard and enter the project ID, service account username, and password.

  <Step title="Retry your request">
    Once saved, `shanone_execute_tool` calls for `mixpanel_*` tools will succeed.

## Troubleshooting

    Mixpanel's ingestion pipeline has processing lag — events can take a few minutes to appear in reports, even though the tracking call itself returned success immediately.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="mixpanel_import_events rejects historical data">
    The import endpoint (unlike live tracking) requires events to include a valid `time` property and rejects events older than 5 years or timestamped in the future.

  <Accordion title="Segmentation query returns unexpected empty results">
    Double-check the event name and property names match exactly (case-sensitive) what's tracked — use `mixpanel_get_top_events` and `mixpanel_get_top_event_properties` first to confirm the real names.
