# Linkup

Shanone's Linkup integration gives your agent 4 tools for AI-optimized web search, single-page fetching, and multi-step deep research, including async research tasks you can poll for results.

## Getting Started

    Sign up at [linkup.so](https://linkup.so) and generate an API key from the dashboard's **API Keys** page.

    Go to **Integrations > Linkup** in the Shanone dashboard and paste the key in.

  <Step title="Retry your request">
    Once saved, `shanone_execute_tool` calls for `linkup_*` tools will succeed.

## Available Tools

Shanone provides **4 tools** for Linkup, organized into these categories:

## Troubleshooting

  <Accordion title="linkup_research never seems to finish">
    Deep research tasks run asynchronously — `linkup_research` returns a task ID immediately. Poll `linkup_tasks` with that ID until the status changes from running to completed.

  <Accordion title="linkup_fetch returns empty or truncated content">
    Some pages block automated fetching or render content client-side via JavaScript; `linkup_fetch` works best on static, publicly accessible pages.

    Linkup's search is tuned for natural-language queries rather than keyword strings — phrase the query as a question or descriptive sentence for better results.
