# Google Analytics 4

Shanone's GA4 integration gives your agent 33 tools spanning the Admin API (accounts, properties, custom definitions), the Data API (reports, real-time, funnels), and the Measurement Protocol for sending events directly.

## Getting Started

    Ask your agent to do something with GA4 (e.g. "show me last week's traffic by channel"), or connect proactively from **Integrations** in the Shanone dashboard.

  <Step title="Authorize the Google account">
    Approve Google's OAuth consent screen for the account with access to the GA4 property you want Shanone to act on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Retry your request">
    Once connected, `shanone_execute_tool` calls for `ga4_*` tools will succeed.

## Troubleshooting

  <Accordion title="ga4_run_report returns fewer rows or a sampling warning">
    Check `ga4_check_compatibility` before combining dimensions/metrics — some combinations aren't compatible and GA4 silently drops or samples data instead of erroring.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="ga4_list_access_bindings fails with an insufficient scope error">
    This endpoint is in the GA4 Admin API's alpha surface and needs an additional OAuth scope beyond the standard read/edit scopes — reconnect the integration if you hit this.

  <Accordion title="ga4_send_events events don't show up in reports">
    Measurement Protocol events aren't validated server-side by default — run `ga4_validate_events` first, and remember real-time/standard reports can take minutes to hours to reflect new events.
