# Context7

Shanone's Context7 integration gives your agent 3 tools for pulling current, version-accurate documentation and code snippets directly from library source — useful for avoiding outdated API knowledge baked into a model's training data.

## Getting Started

    Sign up at [context7.com](https://context7.com/docs/api-guide) and generate an API Key from your account.

  <Step title="Add it to Shanone">
    Open **Integrations** in the Shanone dashboard, select Context7, and paste in the API Key.

  <Step title="Retry your request">
    Once saved, `shanone_execute_tool` calls for `context7_*` tools will succeed.

## Troubleshooting

  <Accordion title="context7_get_docs or context7_get_code_snippets returns a 404">
    The `library_id` must come from `context7_search_library` first — Context7 library IDs follow a `/owner/repo` format and aren't guessable from the package name alone.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="context7_get_code_snippets returns snippets for the wrong version">
    Pass an explicit `version` parameter (e.g. `v18.2.0`) if you need snippets tied to a specific release; without it, Context7 returns snippets across all indexed versions.

  <Accordion title="Requests fail with a rate limit error">
    Context7's free tier has a request-per-minute cap; space out calls or upgrade the plan on context7.com if you're running high-volume documentation lookups.
